Welcome to my official campaign website.
As a life-long resident of Dallas, I was taught by my parents, Mary Jo and Polie, early in life the meaning of hard work and honest living. While growing up, I saw firsthand the love of family, the power of prayer and the value of a dollar. I learned that giving back to my community was a part of life. I chose to serve the public because I realized that I could make a difference in our community.
It has been my honor to serve you and the people of Gaston County as your Sheriff. It is my promise to you to continue to carry out my sworn constitutional duties as the Sheriff with the highest level of professionalism, expertise and courtesy.
I will never forget that the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office belongs to the people of Gaston County and that it is a high honor and privilege to serve you.

"I will not apologize for being an advocate
for law enforcement..."
It’s been my honor to serve the citizens of Gaston County for the last 17 years as your Sheriff. Throughout my tenure, I have worked diligently to serve and protect all of our citizens and the county. Working with the brave deputies, detention officers and our administrative staff we have always put the interest of public safety and service first.
That’s why I will seek re-election as your Sheriff in the upcoming 2022 General Election.
I know there are some candidates already on the campaign trail telling many of you that I won’t be a candidate next year. That’s not true and I wanted you to hear it directly from me.
I will be a candidate for re-election in 2022. I want to continue serving Gaston County with innovative programs in our law enforcement support, our courts, our civil service, our jail, our sex offenders registration program and the community support and domestic violence programs. In these turbulent times, I will continue to be a dependable, steady leader.
I will not apologize for be an advocate for law enforcement and standing up to execute my constitutional duties as your elected Sheriff. I will continue to have an open-door policy for any citizen of Gaston County, and I will execute my lawful duties without prejudice or prescriptions. That’s my solemn pledge to the people of Gaston County.
